Salmonid Restoration in Bull Creek 1999 - 2007

The Bull Creek Watershed drains into the South Fork Eel River approximately five miles north of Weott.  The watershed is located within the Humboldt Redwoods State Park and is managed as such.  Historically, Bull Creek has received vast amounts of sediment due to the 1955 and 1964 flood slides and its successive period of heavy logging and road building.  Today, the watershed has begun to stabilize and recover enough for riparian and instream fisheries restoration projects to be effective.  Since 1999, ERWIG has been involved in the restoration of Bull Creek, implementing various instream and revegetation projects in a stream that has physically resembled a flat racetrack more than an ideal fish habitat.
